West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) Specialist Professional Services Framework

In August 2016, Dynniq secured a place on the West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) Specialist Professional Services framework - a four year (2016-20) multi-disciplinary, transport consultancy framework. In this context, WYCA brings together Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds, Wakefield and York councils and the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) to deliver the Government-funded £1bn West Yorkshire ‘Plus’ Transport Fund.

The West Yorkshire 'Plus' Transport Fund will underpin economic growth by improving the City Region's roads and railways, connecting people to jobs, and goods to markets. This fund is being targeted at schemes which reduce congestion and improve air quality, improve the flow of freight and make it easier for people to commute to and from expected major economic growth areas.

WYCA is currently working in partnership with the officers in all of the West Yorkshire and York districts to deliver a wide range of schemes:

  • new and expanded highways facilitating development, economic growth and jobs, especially in deprived areas
  • improved access corridors and junctions for pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles
  • enhanced provision of parking at rail stations
  • greater investment in public transport infrastructure

Professional services on the framework are provided on a call-off basis to WYCA and affiliated organisations. Dynniq successfully tendered for the Urban Traffic Management Control (UTMC) and the multi-disciplinary, Technical Support lots.

The UTMC lot incorporates a  wide range of traffic signal design services, including initial scheme identification, feasibility studies, traffic modelling, and detailed design and specification. It will enable Dynniq to demonstrate our specialist skills in traffic control systems, including the latest developments in SCOOT, MOVA, linked MOVA and hybrid control.
